City of Raleigh Bicycle and Pedestrian Program Coordinator - under general direction, is responsible for coordinating, planning and monitoring bicycle and pedestrian planning efforts. Coordinates independent city and NCDOT projects for funding and design. Conducts research, analyzes complex statistical data, develops planning timetables, evaluates systems policies and procedures and makes recommendations to achieve goals and objectives. Responsible for coordination and communication with multiple departments, regional planning agencies, elected officials and the general public.

Supervisor of Scheduling (Updated on 11/16/2009)
We are seeking an accomplished professional in our New Haven division to lead the planning, scheduling and customer service departments for our fixed route bus operating division. This position is the manager of all planning functions in the Division. Will direct the planning staff but will also interact with the regional planning organization, the City of New Haven and the municipal departments of various towns regarding transit issues. Also serves as the key position for public outreach to community groups and organizations.
This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of operational planning from data gathering to service design to run cutting and driver scheduling for this 92 peak bus operation. Will lead the planning staff in preparing for three to four driver run assignments per year and use these opportunities to make route and schedule adjustments to address transit service delivery issues. Individual will give direction to a planner, several traffic specialists and the Customer Service department’s telephone information center and customer outreach efforts. The individual will take direction from and report to the Director of Planning and Scheduling at our headquarters in Hartford.
A Bachelor’s degree with major course work in Urban or Transportation Planning, Engineering, Business or a related field is required. A combination of education and 5 years of transportation experience in a relevant position will be considered. Extensive proficiency in MS Office and experience with computerized scheduling software, preferably Trapeze, is a necessity. Prior experience in planning or scheduling combined with supervisory experience is highly preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.

Hudson Square Connection seeking RFP (Updated on 11/9/2009)
The Hudson Square Connection seeks a transportation consultant to assist in developing an interim traffic management strategy. Our goal is to improve the traffic operations and safety for all users of our streets: pedestrians, cyclists, transit passengers, and local deliveries and motorists. Hudson Square Connection, a Business Improvement District (BID), is a not-for-profit organization, generally bounded by Canal Street on the south, West Houston on the north, Sixth Avenue on the east and Greenwich street on the west, has been in operation since July 1, 2009.
